A Jakarta law firm for litigation and arbitration, bankruptcy & PKPU, family and inheritance disputes, and corporate law — including the disputes that never stay in one courtroom.
The art of strategic thinking.
Damianus Renjaan Law Office was founded by Damianus Herman Renjaan, S.H., M.H., an advocate in practice since 2009 and a licensed Curator and Administrator. At the heart of how we work is a discipline he has practised from the start: the art of strategic thinking.
A case is not decided by the strongest argument alone, but by the clarity with which the whole ground is read: knowing where each step will lead, and taking it at the right moment. We set the course before we move, and keep reading the ground as the matter unfolds.
Strategy begins with candour. Before we take a step, we tell you plainly where your matter stands: its strengths, its weaknesses, and what it will realistically take. Sometimes the wisest course is to negotiate, or not to litigate at all. When the course is to fight, we commit fully, from the first consultation to a final and binding judgment, and through to its enforcement.
Strategy is tested most when a dispute has many sides. We see every matter whole, so that each step strengthens the others rather than undermining them.
Yet strategy is only as good as the commitment behind it. Our founder instils one conviction in every lawyer here: a matter entrusted to us is a question of professional honour, and to see it through to success is a pride every lawyer should carry. Client satisfaction, as we see it, is the natural fruit of that commitment.
We hold that commitment down to the smallest detail, because what is at stake is not only your matter, but our name as well.
Cases are not won in the courtroom. They are won long before, in the way we think.

End-to-end counsel, from preventing disputes to enforcing judgments. We negotiate where settlement serves you, and litigate when it does not.
Civil, commercial, land and corporate disputes before the District Courts, High Courts and Supreme Court, the State Administrative Court, the Industrial Relations Court and arbitral tribunals, as well as judicial review before the Constitutional Court. We handle every stage: claim, defence, appeal, cassation and case review (PK).
Our founder is a licensed Curator and Administrator, so we know the process from the inside. We act for creditors and debtors before the Commercial Court: filing and opposing petitions, verifying claims, assessing composition plans, and challenging a curator’s conduct when the law is not followed.
A judgment is only worth what can be enforced. We pursue execution of court judgments and enforceable instruments (grosse akta), seek attachment of assets, and defend execution against third-party opposition (bantahan/perlawanan).
Inheritance, marriage annulment and joint-property disputes before the Religious and District Courts, including matters involving foreign nationals and marriages registered abroad. These cases are personal. We handle them with discretion and with the same rigour as any commercial dispute.
When a business or family dispute takes a criminal turn, we act for complainants and for those reported or investigated — from police reports and examinations through trial, including pretrial review (praperadilan) of investigative actions.
Legal opinions, contract drafting and review, legal due diligence and corporate actions across investment, mining, land and property, capital market and intellectual property matters. We draft with litigation in mind, because we know which clauses end up in court.
For companies without a legal department, we act as one: internal policies, corporate deeds and filings, licensing, regulatory reporting and day-to-day contract review, with one point of contact who knows your business.
Tell us what happened. We will give you an honest first view and direct you to the right lawyer.
